the sunbeam variations

good morning..as this is the happiest self portrait I can imagine creating, I wanted to experiment with it I printed two giclees on the same watercolor paper I did the original on (it took a few hours of work to bring them to "life") and painted the backgrounds with watercolor, acrylic and dyes to approximate the sunbeams from "Howdy Dooit" and "Mickey Rodent"..I had so much fun I want more! hope you enjoy.

self portrait revised

It was brought to my attention that my left eye on this one was too low and the left side of my face was too rounded, so here we are! It will be delivered tomorrow so it is finished. happy Monday my friend.

stupa self portrait/gold-brown background

Here's a variation I painted after scanning and printing my latest self portrait on watercolor paper, then painting a new background with transparent dyes, watercolor and metallic pigment. I like to leave the original as uncovered as possible so I can do more with the image over time. I print with Epson Claria inks then reinforce any weak areas with new watercolor, watercolor pencil and sumi ink. 8.5x11"
